§ I. Relevancy (where applicable)
This Policy is relevant generally to the AfricShopping website’s content and other related websites where a link to this Policy can be seen in the footer of the page. This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that AfricShopping does not own or control or to people that AfricShopping does not employ or manage. Other AfricShopping-branded websites may be governed by separate privacy policies. The policy that is applicable to any of our domains is that whose link appears in the footer of each website. In accordance to the requirements of applicable law, we ensure a consistent set of privacy practices throughout the global AfricShopping trading platforms. We will only keep your information for as long as we are either required to by law or as is relevant for the purposes for which it was collected.

You may visit AfricShopping.com without us knowing who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. If you wish to place an order for a product or seek to sell on AfricShopping.com we may collect some of your personal information, which will be used to process your order and/or any possible later claims, delivery services or any other services you request of AfricShopping, and by providing us with such information, you agree to the transfer and storage of that information on our servers located in Germany.

We may forward your name and address on to a third party in order to make delivery of the product to you (for example to our courier partner).We may disclose personal information to respond to legal requirements, enforce our policies, and the User Agreement, answer to claims that a listing or other content violates the rights of others, or protect anyone’s rights, property, or safety. We may also share your personal information with members of the AfricShopping corporate family to provide joint content and services (like registration, transactions and customer support), to help detect and prevent potentially illegal acts and violations of our policies, and to guide decisions about products, services and communications, and/or members of AfricShopping that you purchase products from. We may still share your personal information with law enforcement or other governmental officials, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity. In an effort to respect your privacy and our ability to keep the community free from criminals and illegal activity, we will not otherwise disclose your personal information to law enforcement, other government officials, or other third parties without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except when we believe in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss or to report suspected illegal activity. Your personal information may be share with other business entities, if we merge with or be acquired by such business entity. If you categorically informed us to share your information with a particularly third party or you consent to same when using a specific service on AfricShopping.com we will do so.

When you sell or buy through AfricShopping.com all your transactional information are safe and secure. However, it is known that AfricShopping.com enables you to share personal and financial information to complete transactions. Therefore we cannot guarantee the privacy or security of your information when you share it with others on AfricShopping.com and therefore we encourage you to evaluate the privacy and security policies of your trading partner before entering into a transaction and/or sharing your information with them. When users are involved in a transaction, they may have access to each other’s name, User ID, email address and other contact and shipping information. In all cases, you must give other users a chance to remove themselves from your database and a chance to review what information you have collected about them. It should be noted, that it is not allowed to share information of other users collected during transaction with third parties.

So, if your password has been compromised, please notify AfricShopping and change your password immediately.
§VIII. Your rights
If you have provided us your personal data, you have the right to change your mind and delete your user profile at any time. For a complete deletion of your account please send us a short message to this effect. Until then, some of your posts in forums, comments, bids, announcements and/or articles may still remain in our system. It should however be noted that we do retain personal information from closed accounts to comply with law, prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, assist with any investigations, enforce User Agreement, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.
§IX. Links to other websites
We protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, accidental loss or damage through the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and other security tools. Our system is designed to ensure that all data collected through the site are securely transferred to our server, which is located in Germany. We treat data as an asset that must be protected. Although, we work very hard to protect your privacy, and we have got a variety of security measures in place which makes it difficult for hackers to access your details, still we are unable to guarantee 100% security. We believe we can both achieve reasonable security level if you as an individual do your part as outlined in section VII above.
